ReSOURCE is seeking a Development Director in our Burlington location. This is a 30-40 hour per week, exempt position. Hours will be determined with final candidate. This position will start in March.
Overview
ReSOURCE is an innovative non-profit with the mission of waste reduction, job skill training and poverty relief. The organization relies on a mix of donations, grants and earned income from its multiple social enterprises to fund its operations and programs. The Development Director leads a coordinated effort to secure donations from individuals, businesses and foundations and grants from government agencies. These funds help the organization sustain and grow programs in each of its three mission areas.
The Development Director reports to the Executive Director and supervises the Marketing Manager and the Outreach & Development Associate.
Goals of Position
• Lead the organization’s grant writing process and annual fundraising efforts.
• Ensure the organization’s outreach and communication with donors and partners is consistent and coordinated between departments and between all types of solicitations (for cash, for reuse donations, for volunteers, for job placements, etc)
• Deliver excellent customer service and support to both internal and external customers.
• Be a well connected community resource with excellent links to employers, business partners and the non-profit community.
• Generate income for ReSOURCE.
• Help the organization successfully complete its capital campaign in central Vermont
• Support the mission of ReSOURCE.
• As part of leadership team for the organization, help the organization make wise strategic decisions
Skills and Qualifications Required
• Bachelor’s Degree
• A minimum of 3 years experience writing grants and creating fundraising appeals.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Competent use of Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel and Access.
• Ability to multi-task, set priorities, and accomplish goals.
• Excellent presentation and public speaking skills.
• Commitment to ReSOURCE’s mission.
• Ability to receive and give constructive feedback.
• Positive, cooperative team spirit.
